Logline:

A 24min documentary short film exploring the deep ties my mother has to Puerto Rico, the home she was torn from at 7 years old. She speaks of plants, and roots that don’t belong in Texas – the home shared by my mother, father and me. When my father passed away, she become unmoored in this vast desert and still looks back towards Puerto Rico for spiritual sustenance. This film combines my own footage as well as her footage from when she was in college attempting to document her own idea of Puerto Rico and the new life with my father. We speak across landscapes and time.
