Synopsis:
In a cramped California home, three generations of a Latino family are forced to confront the end of their patriarch’s life. When Alfredo quietly decides to stop taking his medication, the fragile balance of denial and routine shatters. What follows is a single day filled with revelations, clashes, and unexpected tenderness.
At the heart of the story is Melanie, Alfredo’s granddaughter, who struggles to bridge the gap between youthful idealism and the unspoken rules of her family. As her grandmother bitterly reveals Alfredo’s choices, and her mother reminds them all that this is his last day, the family must reckon with what it truly means to honor someone’s dignity—and how to love without holding on too tightly.
Humor and heartbreak collide in the tight corners of the house.
Last Words is a tender dramedy about the realities of Latino families. In one house, in one day, in one family: the struggle to say goodbye and the messy beauty of imperfect love.
