Logline:
This short film reflects on the relationship we have with our natural environment and highlights the multisensory connection that characterizes our identity as Puerto Ricans. Puerto Rico has historically been linked to the notion of paradise, from the coasts to the mountains, through tropical forests to dry and evocative valleys. Our landscape not only represents us but also shapes the very essence of our identity. However, every day we witness how this paradise is deliberately privatized and destroyed for the sake of private consumption and exploitation. Although our landscape should be the most valuable legacy we leave to future generations, unfortunately, even access to our beaches has become a privilege limited to a few. This short film seeks to conceptualize the experience of immersing oneself in our natural environment with the firm intention of preserving that experience we fear losing. These are spaces where the simple act of shouting is prohibited, and through this work, we aim to convey the urgency of protecting and sharing the beauty that surrounds us before it disappears before our eyes.
